This internship position involves assisting in Project Engineering activities, which can range from simple to moderate complexity, depending on the engineering discipline. For non-Electrical Engineering degrees (Mechanical/Civil/Petroleum/Chemical), the focus will be on fixed equipment, rotating equipment, and reliability. For Electrical Engineering degrees, the focus will be on electrical engineering aspects. The role includes supervised observation of activities, documentation review, scope creation, and specification updates.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Must be enrolled in an accredited engineering program with a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior classification.
Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Responsibilities

Assist in the performance of Project Engineering activities related to fixed equipment (tanks, piping, valves), rotating equipment (pumps), and reliability (integrity management and inspection).
Perform supervised observation of inspection and construction activities.
Complete engineering documentation review, including P&IDs, site plans, piping schematics, mechanical and civil detail drawings, and provide mark-ups.
Work to create engineering-discipline related job scopes for ongoing projects.
Assist with the update and creation of CITGO specifications related to Terminals & Pipelines Operations, Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, and Asset Integrity.
Assist in the performance of Project Engineering activities related to Electrical Engineering.
Observe and participate in lockout/tagout energy isolation and zero energy verification.
Complete electrical engineering documentation review, including One-Line Diagrams, arc flash studies, P&IDs, and motor control schematics, and provide mark-ups.
Work to create job scopes for ongoing projects related to electrical engineering.
Assist with the update and creation of CITGO specifications related to Terminals & Pipelines Operations and electrical engineering.
Generate discipline-related work scopes and complete project documentation updates/review.
Familiarize with CITGO Engineering practices by editing the engineering training manual and apply as necessary to perform assigned work tasks.
Assist with the update/creation of equipment reliability and integrity plans.
Review existing engineering documentation for completeness and consistency with current policies and procedures, including drawings and technical data.
Complete updates to documentation as necessary or assigned.
Consult with Senior Project Engineers and Managers in the group.
Complete site visits in support of ongoing engineering efforts, which may include witnessing site activities and scoping/verification for projects.
