We are currently seeking a RAM and Safety Engineer to work on projects in the throughout United States and Canada. Parsons RAMS Engineers work in a multi-disciplinary environment to perform a variety of engineering tasks related to the design, deployment, operation, and maintenance of complex technology systems. The role may include working with Stakeholders in the development of RAM and Safety specifications, requirements, plans, and analyses for the design, development, test, and commissioning and certification of such systems. Oversee CBTC train control system safety cases, hazard logs, RAMS analyses, and related evidence, ensuring consistency and sufficiency for approvals. Coordinate with contractors, independent safety assessors, and internal stakeholders to plan and achieve safety approvals and certifications. You must be organized and effective in communicating plans, requirements, results, and information to customers at a variety of management levels and technical backgrounds. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution (a combination of years of experience, education, training, and certifications will be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • 8+ years related professional experience
  • Experienced in the application and development of RAM and Safety analyses following the EN-50126 suite of standards, as well as other standards such as MIL-STD-882.
  • Experience with Safety Case demonstration based on EN50129 and system life cycles activities according to EN50126
  • Experience with DOORS Requirements Management Tools for managing RAM and Safety Requirement
  • A proven self-starter able to work individually with limited supervision, and capable of working in small to large focus groups assigned to complex tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of engineering tasks related to the design, deployment, operation, and maintenance of complex technology systems.
  • Work with Stakeholders in the development of RAM and Safety specifications, requirements, plans, and analyses for the design, development, test, and commissioning and certification of such systems.
  • Oversee CBTC train control system safety cases, hazard logs, RAMS analyses, and related evidence, ensuring consistency and sufficiency for approvals.
  • Coordinate with contractors, independent safety assessors, and internal stakeholders to plan and achieve safety approvals and certifications.
  • Conduct Safety Analyses, Develop System Safety Plans, Safety Reports and other safety documents like Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), System / Sub-System Hazard Analysis (SHA / SSHA), Interface Hazard Analysis (IHA), Operational & Support Hazard Analysis (OSHA) and overall Hazard log management.
  • Review and validate Verification and Validation process and Test & Commissioning activities from a Safety perspective.
