About The Position

The Catholic Choir Director will be responsible for conducting rehearsals and performances for Catholic Worship Services, including directing the 0800 and 1100 Mass every weekend. This role involves selecting and coordinating music with the Catholic Priest or designee and the Musician, as well as recruiting and training choir members. The director will also manage equipment and facility requests for the choir and ensure a professional appearance and punctual attendance.

Requirements

• Practical experience in reading, singing, and directing music.
• Working knowledge of worship music used in Catholic Worship settings.
• Ability to learn and direct new songs.
• Punctuality and ability to communicate time conflicts to the supervising chaplain or delegate.
• Maintain a professional appearance.
• Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively with chaplain corps members, choir directors, choir members, and members of other faith groups for ecumenical and interfaith services.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rehearsals and performances for Catholic Worship Services (at least 30 minutes, no more than 2 hours).
• Obtain Catholic Priest's approval for special music and activities.
• Direct the 0800 and 1100 Mass every weekend.
• Choose songs for worship services and coordinate them with the Catholic Priest or designee and the Musician.
• Select and direct special music when needed, in collaboration with the Catholic Priest.
• Recruit and train choir members.
• Manage all requests for equipment and facilities utilized by the choir.
