About The Position
This is a travel contract position for a Cath Lab Technologist in Anchorage, AK. The role involves preparing the cardiac catheterization laboratory, assisting physicians during various cardiac and vascular procedures, operating specialized equipment, and monitoring patient status. The technologist will be responsible for maintaining sterile environments, administering medications, documenting procedures, and participating in emergency call rotations. Adherence to safety protocols, including radiation safety and infection prevention, is crucial.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience
- CA state License
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- ARRT (R) or RCIS certification
Responsibilities
- Prepare the cardiac catheterization laboratory for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Assist physicians during cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, stent placements, electrophysiology procedures, and other vascular interventions.
- Operate fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment according to departmental protocols.
- Scrub, circulate, and monitor procedures as assigned and within the scope of practice.
- Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Monitor patient status throughout procedures and promptly communicate changes to the healthcare team.
- Administer contrast media and medications as permitted by facility policy and state regulations.
- Document procedures accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Participate in emergency call rotation as required by the facility.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety guidelines.
