This position is responsible for the technical application, scrubbing cases, and assisting the physician during cardiac catheterization procedures performed on adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The Cardiovascular Technician is expected to adhere to HHS policies, procedures, values, and standards. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in the unit’s policies and procedures. The primary focus of the CCL includes diagnostic cardiac catheterization and peripheral vascular procedures, balloon angioplasty and other interventional cardiovascular procedures, IABP, temporary and permanent Pacemakers, and ICD Implants, and Cardiac Cath Lab radiographic application.
