About The Position

The Cath Lab RN provides direct care to adult and geriatric patients in the cardiovascular laboratory and addresses psychosocial, physical, and general care needs related to the surgical environment. The role communicates with physicians about patient conditions, monitors and records patient status and physiologic and hemodynamic data during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and helps ensure the procedure room, equipment, supplies, and inventory are ready. The RN also participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.

Requirements

• Active state Registered Nursing (RN) license.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certification.
• ACLS certificate upon hire and maintained as current.
• One year of clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patient populations.
• Address psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
• Communicate with physicians continuously and as needed about patient condition.
• Assist with maintenance of equipment and inventory.
• Assess procedure room or equipment functioning and readiness.
• Obtain supplies for individual cases and ensure the Cardiovascular Laboratory team’s appropriate needs are met.
• Monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data related to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab.
• Continuously monitor and record patients’ conditions while they are in the Cardiovascular lab.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
