Cath Lab / IR Technologist (Cert)
About The Position
At Centinela Hospital Medical Center, the Cath Lab / IR Technologist works under the general direction of a physician (Cardiologist/Radiologist), assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cardiovascular lab. The technologist scrubs procedures and/or monitors physiologic and hemodynamic data, and is certified to operate fluoroscopy/pan with a Fluoro CA license addendum. The role ensures the procedure room is adequately prepared, monitors par levels of instruments and supplies, and supports invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures. The technologist prepares the power injector and contrast medium, injects contrast during procedures, and monitors injector rates and the quantity of contrast administered. The position also participates in staff meetings, performance improvement activities, and training new staff.
Requirements
- ARRT-R certification and licenses as required by the state.
- BCLS (AHA) certification required upon hire and must be maintained as current.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 30 days of hire.
- Proficient computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Lab and/or Interventional Radiology.
- Cardiovascular technologist training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring.
Responsibilities
