About The Position

We are looking for a Catering Specialist to join our family-owned Italian grocery and assist us with catering events. The Catering Specialist contributes to the company’s success by assisting in organizing and preparing for client’s events and providing exceptional service during these events. Attributes that contribute to success in this role include strong interpersonal skills, being attentive, and being able to work well with a team.

Requirements

• Has previous catering experience.
• Possesses strong listening skills and attention to detail to ensure client’s requests are properly met.
• Can work expeditiously and efficiently; and multi-task as needed.
• Works well under pressure.
• Can lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Receiving catering orders in-store / via phone and assisting in the proper assembly of all orders.
• Assisting in coordinating event logistics with clients, including establishing where food will be stationed, when it will be served, and any other relevant procedures.
• Providing high quality customer service by engaging guests and responding to questions in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Ensuring goods are transported safely and at proper temperatures by utilizing appropriate containers, coolers, and bags.
• Preparing and processing large quantities of foods, including custom and specialty requests.
• Serving food, refreshments, and desserts, and ensuring that all guests’ needs are met.
• Maintaining a presentable and professional demeanor during events.
• Setting up and breaking down events, including moving and placing furniture, equipment, tables, trays, dishware glasses, servings stations, and other service equipment as necessary.
• Complying with sanitation and hygienic standards and regulations.
