About The Position

Legends Global is seeking a Catering Sales Manager for George Steinbrenner Field. This position reports to the Director of Premium Services and is responsible for targeting and coordinating catering sales efforts to ensure growth in catering sales. The role involves initiating and developing quality leads, developing new catering business through lead generation and marketing, and attending networking events. The sales manager will solicit new catering customers using various sales techniques, book, sell, plan, and coordinate special social events, and ensure the highest level of customer service. Key responsibilities include generating revenue, establishing new accounts, monitoring booking space, securing repeat business, conducting catering sales presentations, and managing event logistics.

  • Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends and holidays including all games, major stadium events and private events.
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
  • Must have two (2) to three (3) years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of local and regional markets, venue operations, and special events industries.
  • Ability to effectively evaluate risks and liabilities of special events and stadium rentals.
  • Resourceful, innovative and forward thinking, with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze, and develop special event profit generating opportunities.
  • Proactively solicit new business by making sales calls and presentations, attending local trade shows, and engaging in other client prospecting to increase the size of the Legends’ potential client database.
  • Create leads and develop long-term relationships in the event planning, production, and promotion communities, and with other relevant companies, organizations, and groups.
  • Monitor changes and new developments in the special events industry.
  • Work closely and build relationships with Legends’ premium and concessions departments.
  • Manage and direct all Legends-related event logistics, including managing the events calendar, conducting walk-thrus and stadium visits, and being the primary contact for clients.
  • Prepare and provide required reports to the Director of Premium and General Manager including special event revenue reports, profit and loss statements, sales recaps, and projections.
  • Obtain feedback from clients following each special event to determine and analyze client satisfaction, organizational performance, and event-related risks and liabilities.
  • Provide quality service and excellent products while maintaining positive customer and client relations and prudent financial practices.
  • Practice safe work habits and complete company and venue safety and general compliance training.
  • Maintain a pleasant and collaborative attitude towards customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Adhere to the Legends Global and venue company policies.
  • Focus on outbound sales and turning into repeat business.
  • Complete other duties assigned by management.
  • Available to work non-traditional hours (Nights, Weekends & Holidays).
