About The Position

The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for generating catering, small group, and local event business while delivering unforgettable guest experiences. This role involves building relationships, creating experiences, and driving revenue for the Magnolia Hotel Omaha. The ideal candidate is dynamic, ambitious, and thrives on building connections, uncovering new opportunities, and turning creative visions into extraordinary events. This leader will play a key role in elevating Magnolia Omaha’s presence as one of downtown Omaha’s premier event destinations, handling everything from executive board meetings and corporate gatherings to weddings and social celebrations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hotel sales, catering sales, small group sales, or event sales experience preferred
  • Proven ability to generate new business, exceed revenue goals, and build lasting client relationships
  • Strong negotiation, prospecting, and closing skills
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities with a natural talent for connecting with people
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Experience with CRM systems, hotel sales software, and modern prospecting tools
  • Strategic, creative, and results-driven mindset
  • Passion for hospitality, elevated guest experiences, and creating unforgettable moments

Responsibilities

  • Drive Revenue & Build Business: Generate new catering, small group, and event revenue through strategic prospecting, networking, and relationship-building.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities while growing Magnolia Omaha’s visibility and reputation.
  • Build meaningful partnerships with corporate clients, event planners, community organizations, social influencers, and repeat clientele.
  • Create Unforgettable Client Experiences: Bring events to life through engaging site tours, personalized presentations, and innovative event concepts.
  • Guide clients seamlessly through every phase of the planning journey — from initial inquiry to flawless execution.
  • Close Business with Confidence: Negotiate, close, and convert business that aligns with hotel revenue goals while maximizing profitability and long-term relationships.
  • Prepare polished proposals and contracts with creativity and professionalism.
  • Utilize CRM systems, hotel sales platforms, and prospecting tools to effectively manage pipelines, follow-ups, and production goals.
  • Collaborate & Elevate: Partner closely with culinary, operations, and hotel leadership teams to create seamless, high-impact events.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities.
  • Represent Magnolia with charisma and professionalism at networking events, trade shows, and community functions.
  • Contribute innovative ideas, strategic thinking, and high energy to the continued success of the hotel.
