About The Position

Windsor Hospitality is seeking a motivated and growth-oriented Sales and Catering Manager for the Embassy Suites in Arcadia, CA. This role is crucial for achieving sales and revenue goals by soliciting new accounts, maintaining existing ones, and implementing sales and marketing strategies. The Catering Manager will collaborate with the Director of Sales to meet revenue targets, oversee event execution, and manage the daily operations of the Catering Department, ensuring client satisfaction and profitability.

Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred, or an equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent public contact skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel to attend workshops, tradeshows, conventions, etc.
  • May require a valid Driver's License.
  • Proficiency in computer software.
  • Ability to operate under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create new ways of presenting information that will attract people's attention.
  • Ability to frequently change from one activity to another.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Working knowledge of room set-ups, including audio/visual equipment.
  • Working knowledge of food & beverage, menu pricing, and menu design.

Responsibilities

  • Attain assigned sales and revenue goals, as well as solicitation call goals.
  • Develop and execute business plans for designated markets.
  • Proactively conduct solicitation calls (emails and phone), hotel site tours, and client offsite visits specific to assigned market segments.
  • Develop and continually enhance relationships with assigned accounts to maintain high visibility and increase market share.
  • Maximize revenue in rooms, public space, food and beverage, and ancillary products and services.
  • Monitor and evaluate trends within assigned market segments.
  • Maintain an updated pipeline of business opportunities and share progress regularly.
  • Participate in Daily Business Reviews and adhere to rate quote guidelines.
  • Prepare and present effective, personalized, and creative proposals.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts that are fair, profitable, and approved by the Director of Sales.
  • Assist the Director of Sales in building standard menus, specialized menus, and packages, and conduct regular competitive pricing analysis.
  • Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel and applicable departments.
  • Interface with kitchen and banquet departments regarding specific client needs.
  • Prepare, distribute, and review all Banquet Event Orders with the Hotel Team in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy.
  • Lead Banquet Event Order meetings.
  • Ensure changes are communicated timely to impacted departments/operations leaders.
  • Assume responsibility for the successful set-up and execution of social and corporate meetings, meals, and special events.
  • Ensure Banquet checks have been signed at the conclusion of events and final payment secured.
  • Assist the Director of Sales with catering forecasts and reports.
  • Develop active communications and close rapport with Convention & Visitors Bureau, National Sales Offices, Planners Associations, Chamber of Commerce, and other sources of sales information and support.
  • Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel, and review competition.
  • Participate in trade shows and community and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and achieve revenue goals.
  • Support and adhere to the core values, mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy as defined by the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales or General Manager.
