About The Position

Whiskey Red's Restaurant, a high-volume waterfront restaurant and event venue in Marina del Rey, California, is seeking a passionate and driven Catering Sales Manager. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on relationship-building, closing business, and producing exceptional events in a breathtaking setting. The mission is to deliver a consistently elevated, 5-star experience and to grow the events business. The Catering Sales Manager will own the full sales cycle, from inquiry to execution, in a fast-paced environment that rewards creativity, hustle, and results.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Catering Sales or Event Sales experience
  • Experience in a similar-size venue with comparable sales volume
  • Strong knowledge of the local event market and competitive venues
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
  • Confident communicator with polished written and verbal skills
  • Tech-savvy with experience using Delphi, Salesforce, Excel, Word, and CRM platforms
  • Ability to thrive in a high-energy, high-volume sales office
  • Flexible schedule to support event and departmental needs
  • Positive attitude, collaborative mindset, and passion for hospitality
  • High School Diploma required

Responsibilities

  • Consistently meet or exceed budgeted catering and special events revenue goals
  • Sell across multiple market segments including social, corporate, weddings, and buyouts
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships that generate repeat and referral business
  • Utilize strong closing, negotiation, and prospecting skills to drive revenue
  • Conduct engaging site tours showcasing the waterfront location and event spaces
  • Prepare detailed, accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure flawless execution
  • Serve as the main client contact, delivering a seamless, polished experience from start to finish
  • Partner closely with Banquets, Culinary, and Operations teams to execute exceptional events
  • Actively participate in community, civic, and industry organizations to generate new leads
  • Attend trade shows, sales blitzes, and networking events to grow market visibility
  • Work with preferred vendors and external partners to exceed client expectations
