About The Position

Social Express Catering & Meal Prep is seeking versatile, initiative-taking individuals to join their team as Catering Prep & Delivery Specialists. This role extends beyond traditional kitchen duties, involving meal preparation, assisting with deliveries, supporting overall operations, and contributing wherever needed to ensure the smooth functioning of a fast-paced catering business. The ideal candidates are dependable, capable of critical thinking and independent work, and take pride in delivering a high-quality product and experience.

Requirements

  • 1+ years experience in food service, catering, or meal prep preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record (preferred, not required)
  • High-functioning, dependable, and capable of juggling multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to daily production sheets, recipes, and CACFP nutrition guidelines.
  • Portion, package, and label meals accurately and neatly.
  • Support daily prep including chopping, portioning, assembling, and storing food properly.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment at all times.
  • Follow opening, mid-shift, and closing kitchen checklists.
  • Ensure all food safety and hygiene protocols are upheld, including temperature logs and storage practices.
  • Assist with packing meals for delivery routes and loading into delivery vehicles.
  • Step in as a backup driver for local deliveries when needed.
  • Navigate delivery routes efficiently, ensuring on-time drop-off and excellent customer service.
  • Help with catering/event setup, equipment transportation, and cleanup.
  • Monitor inventory and report shortages, damages, or low stock.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff, drivers, and leadership to meet daily deadlines.
  • Provide feedback to improve processes, kitchen flow, and service execution.
  • Adapt quickly to unexpected challenges or changes in workflow.
  • Be ready to “fill in the gap” wherever needed — whether that’s mopping, running a tray, or solving a client issue.
