Ritual Coffee RoastersSan Francisco, CA

About The Position

The Ritual Coffee Catering Lead is an organized, flexible, and enthusiastic cafe team member who collaborates with oversight from the Catering Manager to ensure catering events run smoothly and fulfill the mission of Ritual’s Catering & Events department. This department aims to provide people with the best coffee experience they’ve ever had, in new and unusual settings, without the benefit of a cafe's infrastructure. The Catering Lead works proactively with the Catering Manager, dedicating up to 40 hours a week to catering. This position may involve dynamic shifts between the cafe and event-related work. Event work includes, but is not limited to: managing the catering inbox, overseeing operations at specified events, working as a barista, and acting as the primary or secondary point-person for clients and employees on-site. These hours can be fluid and may sometimes require overtime, including very early and very late shifts. The Catering Lead represents Ritual Coffee and is expected to demonstrate a high level of hospitality and customer service, excellent bar skills, and maintain Ritual Coffee standards with both tenured and temporary staff at events. While prior knowledge of Ritual's systems is not required, the role demands a strategic thinker committed to the success of the catering department, co-workers, and the company. This role requires actively jumping in and developing solutions where needed. Flexibility, leading by example, and openness to feedback are essential. Ideal candidates are collaborative problem solvers, self-starters with a strong interest in coffee and people, inspired by creating unique experiences, possess a talent for operations and coffee, and are enthusiastic about delivering exceptional customer service.
