About The Position

The Catering Team Lead coordinates the general operations of all catering activities in accordance with customer needs based on provided BEOs. This role involves overseeing and facilitating all catering activities and group events, including setup and teardown, and continuously monitoring catering activities on all levels. The Lead is responsible for immediately addressing concerns as they arise, ensuring employees are properly oriented, and completing daily/weekly administrative tasks and reporting. Additionally, the position requires maintaining accurate inventory counts, encouraging teamwork and professionalism among staff, and ensuring proper inventory par levels are maintained. The Lead must interact professionally with personnel and the general public, contribute to a positive work environment, and work necessary hours to ensure customer satisfaction, which may include seasonally long hours and occasional overtime. Dependability, good attendance, and the ability to perform a multitude of assigned duties are essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two to four years of work experience in a similar job-related field.
  • Must be knowledgeable in food and beverage sanitation, guest service, and cash control.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to handle money and operate a cash register quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to listen well, communicate effectively, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to interact positively with customers, employees, and management personnel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and be flexible.
  • Ability to lead a small team to complete a specific task.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to pass Title 31 Training.
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug test with a negative result.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Necessary regulatory agency if applicable, to perform the essential job functions.
  • ABLE License (Liquor)
  • Serve-safe certified (Food Handlers)

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge of bar operations, service procedures, and functions is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Completes any daily/weekly administrative tasks and reporting as assigned.
  • Ensures inventory counts are accurately conducted and recorded at the end of each month.

  • Maintains proper inventory par levels in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Interacts with personnel and the general public in a professional, ethical manner.
  • Contributes to a positive work environment by participating in company and/or employee events and activities.
  • Works hours necessary to ensure customer satisfaction, which may include seasonally long hours.
  • Remains on duty until live racing or other entertainment is concluded and any assigned closeout duties or room resets are completed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
