About The Position

Schmidt’s Catering is seeking quality-oriented individuals to assist in their banquet/catering kitchen, located at the Ohio Expo Center. This kitchen services all of Schmidt's off-premise catering. The role involves food preparation, production, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment. The position is available for full or part-time employment and requires working nights and weekends.

Requirements

  • Must be able to remain standing for long periods of time.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to move around locations.
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, setup, tear down equipment often.
  • Must be able to move wrists in consistent motions numerous times.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds to chest.
  • Frequently moves boxes and equipment.
  • Occasionally ascend/descends a ladder to service lights, signs, and tents.
  • Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Must be able to observe details at close range.
  • Job requires working in outdoor weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in food preparation, including chopping vegetables, making salads, soups, and entrees.
  • Ensuring proper food storage.
  • Learning and following designated cooking methods and recipes to ensure consistency in menu items.
  • Striving to learn and improve cooking skills, expand knowledge of food products and techniques.
  • Assisting with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as requested by the management team.
