We are seeking a Catering & (Food) Safety Coordinator (Catering Manager) to lead and elevate our national remote camp catering operations from our Osoyoos, BC office. Reporting to the National Operations Manager, this role is critical in driving: Food cost efficiency Food procurement in multiple sites, and national vendor management Menu standardization and innovation Food safety compliance Operational excellence across 20+ remote sites This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, logistics-heavy environments and can balance culinary leadership with operational discipline.

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of experience in catering, camp, or commercial kitchen management
  • Strong experience managing multi-site or remote operations
  • Proven ability in budgeting, cost control, and procurement
  • Knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, FoodSafe)
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Ability to travel to remote camp locations occasionally (~10% of role)
  • Flexibility to support operational needs as required
  • Successful candidates will be subject to a criminal record check

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage tiered menu programs
  • Standardize “plug-and-play” menus for operations and sales proposals
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and client satisfaction across all sites
  • Track and manage project-level food budgets
  • Optimize purchasing strategies in high-cost, remote environments
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Coordinate logistics for challenging supply chains
  • Implement daily reporting systems from camp teams
  • Conduct virtual audits for food quality, presentation, and adherence
  • Monitor performance and drive continuous improvement across locations
  • Oversee food safety systems
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal health regulations
  • Support kitchen inspections, approvals, and regulatory engagement
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of kitchen staff
  • Mentor and develop cooks
  • Build strong relationships with site teams and stakeholders
  • Maintain first aid inventory oversight and safety documentation processes
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to support operational needs
  • Conduct occasional site visits (~10%) for audits and supporting mobilization of kitchens in newly built camps
