About The Position

This position will consist of management of service employees as well as management and development of newer Event Managers, fielding client needs on site, menu Integrity, communication with onsite kitchen team, timely service, set-up, clean-up, load-out and overall operation of catering areas at all assigned events. Employee will communicate event details with Sales Manager and Executive Chef prior and post event, as well as additional duties as assigned by Sr. Event Manager.

Requirements

  • 5 Years of experience managing onsite events.
  • Team oriented with interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling 50 pounds.
  • Standing for long periods of time, bending, squatting, repeated lifting.
  • Exposure to solvents, fumes, chemical cleaning supplies.
  • Must be able to work weekend days and evenings dependent on events scheduled.
  • Must be able to work local projects (Farmers Open, Jewel Ball, Miramar Airshow Etc.).
  • Ability to drive company vans and box trucks.
  • Maintain good driving record (no talking or texting while driving) and abide by all traffic laws.

Responsibilities

  • Manage service employees and develop newer Event Managers.
  • Field client needs on site.
  • Ensure menu integrity.
  • Communicate with the onsite kitchen team for timely service.
  • Oversee set-up, clean-up, and load-out of catering areas at assigned events.
  • Communicate event details with the Sales Manager and Executive Chef.
  • Perform warehouse general operations including proper usage of HCMtogo app, time management, developing pull lists and event folders, creating décor packages, pulling required equipment, assisting in the development of Event Managers II & III, acting as a liaison between Event Sales Manager and Warehouse, double-checking event checklists and comment pages, maintaining inventory of supplies, warehouse organization, and adhering to driving laws.
  • Manage warehouse load-in, ensuring all necessary items, food, and condiments are prepared and loaded for the event.
  • Oversee on-site event management, including client introductions, walk-throughs, acting as the sole point of contact, conducting FOH meetings, communicating with onsite culinary for service timelines, managing updates and changes, assisting in the development of Event Managers II & III at larger events, filling out timesheets and post-event notes, and managing events from start to finish.
  • Manage load-out, including inventory of equipment, delegating tasks for loading, ensuring food and equipment are accounted for, performing final walkthroughs of the event space, and returning vehicles to BTS.
  • Work with Human Resources Managers to build practical training for onboarding new event staff.
  • Assist in curating fine dining plans for local events.
  • Create expo plans and high-end service plans for large local events.
  • Uphold high standards of service and ensure staff provide adequate service by observing performance.
  • Provide feedback to staff during events to maintain quality of service.
