About The Position

The Catering Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering Chick-fil-A catering orders accurately, promptly, and with genuine hospitality. This person represents Chick-fil-A Altamonte Mall outside the restaurant and must demonstrate professionalism, care, urgency, and attention to detail during every delivery. This is a scheduled on-call position. Drivers will be assigned specific availability windows during which they must remain reachable and prepared to complete catering deliveries as needed. The number of deliveries and amount of tips may vary and are not guaranteed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to complete a motor-vehicle-record check.
• Reliable personal vehicle available for deliveries when needed.
• Current vehicle registration.
• Current personal automobile insurance that permits work-related delivery use.
• Personal smartphone with reliable cellular service and GPS/navigation.
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to navigate stairs, parking lots, offices, event spaces, and other delivery locations while carrying catering items.
• Dependable, punctual, responsive, and able to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy.
• Professional appearance, communication, and hospitality skills.
• Ability to safely operate a vehicle in traffic and varying weather conditions.
• Completion of all required driving, food-safety, and hospitality training.

Responsibilities

• Review each catering receipt and confirm that the order is complete and accurate before leaving the restaurant.
• Verify food quantities, beverages, sauces, utensils, serving supplies, special instructions, delivery address, contact information, and requested arrival time.
• Communicate any missing, incorrect, or unclear items before departing.
• Safely load, secure, transport, unload, and protect catering orders.
• Maintain food quality, temperature, presentation, and food-safety standards.
• Deliver orders accurately and within the promised delivery window.
• Communicate immediately if traffic, vehicle trouble, difficulty locating the customer, or another issue could delay delivery.
• Professionally greet customers and provide genuine hospitality.
• Set up catering orders according to the customer’s instructions and Chick-fil-A standards.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of catering bags and delivery equipment.
• Accurately document delivery times, mileage, tips, and returned equipment.
• Follow all Chick-fil-A appearance, uniform, safety, and brand standards.
• Represent Chick-fil-A Altamonte Mall positively and professionally at all times.
• Be available throughout each assigned on-call window.
• Remain reachable through the employee’s personal phone.
• Respond to calls or messages regarding a delivery within 15 minutes.
• Arrive at the restaurant within 30 minutes of being contacted unless otherwise instructed.
• Remain legally and safely able to drive throughout the on-call window.
• Immediately notify restaurant leadership if an emergency prevents availability.
• Understand that delivery volume may vary and is not guaranteed.

• Paid according to the applicable tipped-wage requirements for eligible delivery hours.
• The driver receives the customer-designated tip from each order they personally deliver.
• Tips are not pooled.
• Tips vary by customer and order and are not guaranteed.
• When wages and tips do not equal the legally required minimum wage, the restaurant will pay the required difference.
• Approved business mileage driven in a personal vehicle will be reimbursed at the current IRS standard business mileage rate.
• The current rate is $0.76 per mile.
• Mileage reimbursement is separate from hourly wages and tips.
