About The Position

The Catering Coordinator is responsible for organizing and coordinating event planning, managing and executing event orders and presentation needs, inventory maintenance, communicating with third party vendors, maintaining supply and smallware inventory, supervising and scheduling staff, and ensuring the sanitation standards of the kitchen. This is a part-time, hourly position with expected hours of work that will vary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Prior experience as a catering coordinator, or other relevant position in the hospitality or food service experience industry.
  • Excellent communication skills and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Organized and punctual.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in Hospitality or Culinary Arts is preferred.
  • Finance or business management skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Attend all applicable meetings and communicate information back to the leadership team.
  • Communicate consistently and effectively with on site event coordinator in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Relay key information to the leadership team.
  • Respond to the needs of clients and customers in a timely manner.
  • Organize a timeline for the event that is smooth and efficient.
  • Ensure that the décor is properly set up and then broken down after the event.
  • Ensure that food orders are processed and on time for the events.
  • Manage inventory of food and supplies to ensure that all the needs will be met for the event.
  • Communicate and coordinate with third party vendors and external suppliers to ensure the inventory is stocked.
  • Oversee the catering and kitchen staff.
  • Schedule and maintain proper staffing for event schedules.
  • Manage budgeting and assist with financing duties including the food and décor budgets for an event.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
  • Perform other department duties assigned by the Chef Manager or Director.
  • Responsible for acting in conformance with all facility and departmental policies and procedures including those relating to human resources, code of ethics and business conduct, health and safety regulations, compliance requirements, patient rights, confidentiality, and HIPAA.
  • Responsible for acting in conformance with accrediting agency standards.
  • Attends department meetings as required.
  • Demonstrates accountability to accept responsibility for personal/professional growth and any required certification/licenses, if applicable.
  • Completes mandatory training and competencies annually.
