About The Position

Groovin' Gourmets, the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, is seeking a Catering Cook for their Norfolk location. This role involves preparing fresh, chef-crafted meals for various events. Requirements

Basic knowledge of kitchen terminology
2+ years kitchen experience
Neat and professional appearance
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Responsible approaches to work
Punctual (being on time means being five minutes early)
Appreciates a clean workspace and seeks out opportunities to 'leave it better than you found it.'
Finishes tasks quickly and efficiently
Willing to make mistakes and learn from them

Nice To Haves

Previous catering cooking experience is a plus
For full-time, able to work 40-50 hours on weekdays and weekends
For part-time, flexible scheduling on weekdays and weekends

Responsibilities

Prepare dishes and meals in a scratch kitchen by washing, chopping, cutting, weighing, and mixing ingredients.
Garnish finished dishes.
Clean, set up, and break down kitchen equipment, appliances, and work areas.
Cover, label, and date all food products.
Follow all food safety rules for proper storage.
Plate food and work action stations (carving, sandwiches, etc.) at occasional events.
Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other cooking equipment.
Work in accordance with food safety and safety guidelines.
