About The Position

The Catering Captain will ensure the flawless execution of events, providing top-notch service in a courteous, timely, and efficient manner. In this role, you will lead our service staff, uphold our high standards, and work closely with the Catering Manager to coach and mentor the team. Your role is pivotal in creating memorable experiences and fostering repeat business. This is a part-time, fully on-site role at our club in Portland, OR.

Requirements

2-5 years in catering, with a solid understanding of food and beverage service.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to use kitchen equipment.
Positive, calm, and professional demeanor with the ability to stay composed under pressure.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, including Easter, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, and our Annual Meeting.

Nice To Haves

Previous supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Ensure exceptional execution of all catering functions, from setup to service and breakdown.
Supervise and coordinate service staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
Consistently enforce club policies and procedures fairly and effectively.
Greet and communicate with clients throughout events to meet or exceed their expectations.
Anticipate and resolve issues quickly and efficiently to ensure guest satisfaction.
Inspect event areas, table settings, and equipment for cleanliness and proper setup.
Maintain regular communication with the sales team and provide detailed reports on events.
Other duties as assigned.
