About The Position

Multnomah Athletic Club is seeking an experienced Catering Captain with a passion for creating unforgettable events. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic, high-energy environments and can take initiative to lead a team to success. The Catering Captain will ensure the flawless execution of events, providing top-notch service in a courteous, timely, and efficient manner. This position involves leading the service staff, upholding high standards, and working closely with the Catering Manager to coach and mentor the team. The role is pivotal in creating memorable experiences and fostering repeat business.

Requirements

2-5 years in catering, with a solid understanding of food and beverage service.
Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to use kitchen equipment.
Positive, calm, and professional demeanor with the ability to stay composed under pressure.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, including Easter, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, and our Annual Meeting.

Responsibilities

Ensure exceptional execution of all catering functions, from setup to service and breakdown.
Supervise and coordinate service staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
Consistently enforce club policies and procedures fairly and effectively.
Greet and communicate with clients throughout events to meet or exceed their expectations.
Anticipate and resolve issues quickly and efficiently to ensure guest satisfaction.
Inspect event areas, table settings, and equipment for cleanliness and proper setup.
Maintain regular communication with the sales team and provide detailed reports on events.
Other duties as assigned.
