About The Position

The Driver/Attendant position requires an individual from the Dayton area to cater food and deliver it to the MAP location in Cincinnati from the OH Commissary in the Dayton PMC CareSource building. Responsibilities include loading food and all necessary items, driving a delivery vehicle, unloading at the destination, serving guests alongside baristas, and returning to the commissary to unload, clean equipment, and park the vehicle. This is a temporary role with an expected duration of 6 months, though this may change based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Must be from the Dayton area.
  • Ability to lift 50lb is a must.
  • Must be able to work in hot and cold environments.
  • Must be able to use standard kitchen equipment correctly and safely (Chefs' knives, Convection ovens, meat and cheese slicing machines, steamers, mandolins, grills, and broilers).
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for food preparation.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in catering and/or events.
  • Must have knowledge of standard catering presentation techniques.
  • Ability to use basic computer programs for inputting and organizing data and menus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
  • Possess current SERV Safe or Food Handler certification or the ability to be certified immediately after hired.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
  • Work up to 8 hours a day on your feet, excluding breaks.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Come to work properly dressed according to the dress code.
  • Employee must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
  • Requires the ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Requires the ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
  • Requires the ability to stoop, kneel, bend and reach.
  • Must be able to use a computer keyboard for up to 2 hours continuously.
  • Deliver hot and cold food to on-campus sites using carts and vans.
  • Use proper lifting skills when handling stock.
  • Load and push a cart a short distance.

Nice To Haves

  • Work with the Executive Chef, FOH Manager, and Catering Manager on a variety of projects.
  • Work with on-site porters on storerooms and delivery of food.
  • Work with pantry supervisors on remote pantry product deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a delivery vehicle for the purpose of delivering prepared foods from production kitchen to various sites following a predetermined schedule.
  • Load and unload containers, hot carts and utensils and make proper distribution.
  • Maintain product rotation, product labeling and cleanliness of walk-ins and food storages areas.
  • Day to day support of kitchen, front of the house, and pantry deliveries.
  • Perform daily, on-time deliveries.
  • Clean and maintain delivery trucks (interior and exterior) daily.
  • Maintain maintenance records and delivery log documentation.
  • Perform pickup and drop-off of product inventory.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work area.
  • Follow Workplace Safety guidelines, policies, and SOPs daily.
  • Follow Food Safety guidelines, policies, and SOPs daily.
  • Follow HACCP guidelines, policies, and SOPs daily.
  • Follow all internal audit guidelines, policies, and SOPs daily.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in HSEQ training and report any potential hazards or compliance concerns.
