Performs a wide range of duties involved with preparing and/or serving foods and beverages in one or more of a variety of food service environments. This role does not require patient care. The Catering Associate will set up food service, kitchen, or salad area facilities, equipment, and utensils. They will convey food and supplies from the main kitchen, bakery, and/or salad preparation area to the serving site. The associate will follow prescribed procedures for setting up hot and cold food lines, prepare or assist in the preparation of various food items, and serve food items to customers. Replenishing foods, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays at serving stations is also a key responsibility. The role involves attending to day-to-day problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies, and detecting and ensuring disposition of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment, and/or other unusual conditions. Cleaning and maintaining work areas, including floors, facilities, pots, pans, service ware, utensils, and equipment, and managing garbage and trash are also part of the duties.
