About The Position

The Catering Assistant position is a full-time, regular role with a weekly hour commitment of 40 hours and an FTE of 1. The role is located at the Burnet Campus within the Food Services department and operates on a rotating shift schedule. The primary goal is to make children's health better through a holistic team approach. The position involves supporting event execution and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 1 year work experience in service industry, prefer in food service related area

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months Banquet service specifically in a conference center, hotel or formal setting

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing needs.
  • Read and interpret Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and daily work sheets; proactively seek clarification to ensure successful event execution.
  • Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, professionalism, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Accept responsibility for actions, follow through on commitments, and maintain high-quality work standards.
  • Maintain professional attire and physical presentation.
  • Provide excellent customer service with a positive, patient, and professional approach.
  • Identify customer needs and respond appropriately, escalating concerns when necessary.
  • Support customer satisfaction by recommending services or solutions that meet organizational and client needs.
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with customers, leadership, coworkers, and support teams.
  • Adapt communication style to meet the needs of diverse audiences and situations.
  • Collaborate effectively across departments to ensure successful event execution and outstanding customer service.
  • Stand and walk for the majority of the shift.
  • Push, pull, load, unload, and transport equipment and supplies throughout a large service area.
  • Lift and move items weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for serving customers and supporting team goals.
  • Work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Maintain flexibility and composure in a busy, service-oriented setting.
