This role focuses on increasing sales revenues through promotional concepts and overlay programs, developing comprehensive category plans, and establishing and monitoring gross margins. The position involves forecasting sales, projecting volume and profit for new and existing products, and determining optimal placement and promotions. It also requires maintaining external vendor relations, recommending product and policy changes based on performance and market developments, and achieving financial objectives through budgeting and variance analysis. Additionally, the role contributes to staff development by assisting in recruitment, training, and performance management, and continuously enhances professional knowledge through education and networking. The Category Manager also plays a part in achieving overall company targets.
