The Fuel Director will manage the Business Unit’s Sourcing team and be accountable for all day-to-day activities. This role involves managing all day-to-day supplier relationships and collaborating with Global Fuels on all Business Unit RFP’s. The Director will also assist on Merger & Acquisition activity within the Business Unit and help Global Fuels prepare the annual Fuels capital budget. A key responsibility is to research, create, and implement the Business Unit fuels strategy, and collaborate with the Global Fuels pricing team on retail pricing opportunities. The role ensures the execution of top quartile performance for all brand standards and customer experience in the forecourt, working with Operations and Facilities teams to address sub-par brand standards. The Fuel Director will also work with Global Fuels on fuel-related pilot projects and collaborate with Fuels Marketing and Facilities to finalize and communicate the NTI UST alignment strategy. Additionally, the role involves working with the Global Fuels Logistics team to troubleshoot supplier and carrier issues escalated from the Business Units. In partnership with Global Fuels, the Director will determine optimum products and origins to maximize economic performance (e.g., bio-diesel, non-eth, future of E85). A significant part of the role is to create and implement an effective fuels database with dashboard/reporting capabilities for market and BU review, covering contract performance, historical volumes, industry vs. our performance, premium penetration, loyalty penetration, brand penetration, site details, premium spreads, CPG by brand, CC costs by brand, sites with LED, sites with Toggle, new dispenser installations, mystery motorist results, and future product performance. The Director will also assist in structuring and analyzing RFPs and sourcing deals connected to acquisitions, review and recommend on existing fuel sourcing processes of acquired companies, and integrate fuel sourcing connected to acquisitions. This includes operational sourcing, nominations, RIN strategy, continuation of bulk programs, and miscellaneous director-level interaction with suppliers to develop, build, and maintain relationships. The role also includes assisting in budgeting and long-range planning on an ongoing basis.
