About The Position

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Category Management Specialist on a permanent basis on our Home and Building Solutions (HABS) team. This position is a hybrid opportunity and can be based anywhere in Western Canada. Support Category Managers in developing category plans for Home Centre locations within the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS). Requirements

• 1 – 3 years of relevant wholesale or retail experience, preferably in hardware or building materials categories.
• A degree in marketing or general business (a combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered).
• Honest, trustworthy, results oriented, and strive to be the best in what you do.
• Believe in collaboration, building relationships and value the perspectives of others.

Nice To Haves

• Category management and purchasing experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support Category Managers with category reviews, assortment planning, and data analysis to drive category growth and profitability.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize planograms to ensure effective product flow, accurate shelf sets, and strong sales performance.
• Analyze product movement, listings, pricing, and weekly reports to recommend item updates, inventory adjustments, and merchandising improvements.
• Assist in creating and executing pricing strategies and promotional plans to strengthen competitiveness and enhance margins.
• Collaborate with vendors to obtain samples, POS materials, and displayers, and communicate with retail teams to resolve planogram-related issues.
• Contribute to special projects and provide KPI‑focused reporting to support departmental goals
