About The Position

The Category Advisor is a critical member of our Category Leadership organization that can distill insights from a variety of data sources to develop business plans that drive category volume for Walmart. This position leads all activities relating to optimizing assortment and space management for assigned categories by using a broad set of analytical tools. We are looking for a team member who will be the expert on key Kraft Heinz categories, Walmart’s shoppers, insight development, efficient assortment recommendations, and optimal shelf placement. The ideal candidate for this role models lifelong learning and curiosity; demonstrates ownership of their business; and embeds themselves in the culture of Kraft Heinz.

Requirements

  • Microsoft Suite (Excel, Powerpoint), Power BI, JDA Space Planning, ShelfIQ, Scintilla, Circana/Unify+, Numerator, Mintel, Datassential
  • Proven project management skills
  • Detail orientation while managing massive amounts of data
  • Applicable experience in consumer-packaged goods industry; food/bev a plus
  • Demonstrated deep understanding of Planogram & Walmart Relay management
  • Experience in Category Leadership [Insights & storytelling]
  • Experience calling on Walmart
  • Demonstrated syndicated and panel data knowledge, and space management software skills

Responsibilities

  • Identify root causes of customer issues and opportunities and deliver compelling stories to drive action to address
  • Draw key insights and business recommendations on distribution, assortment, pricing, and promotion by analysis of syndicated, panel, & market intelligence data (Unify+, Numerator, Mintel, etc.)
  • Develop and integrate consumer, shopper, and retailer insights to better advise targeted strategies, plans and decisions
  • Use insight resources to prioritize consumer and shopper needs and opportunities
  • Integrate data to develop impactful customer-specific strategies in support of key category business building initiatives.
  • Liaison to internal/external supply chain regarding efficient assortment
  • Lead broader space initiatives across aisle and store
  • Understand and apply best-practice category management processes
  • Implement Kraft Heinz shelving principles and standards
  • Build connections and inroads with Walmart merchant teams
  • Captain Walmart’s modular reset process, which entails automating and drawing best-in-class planograms using JDA Space Planning and ShelfIQ.
  • Conduct assortment analysis, white space discovery, regionality analyses, and SKU optimization recommendations to the Walmart merchant in preparation for the reset process.
