Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology
  • One year diagnostic technology
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team
  • ARRT registered in Radiology and CT
  • Massachusetts State license in Radiology and CT

  • Advance education in CAT scan technology
  • One year of CT

Responsibilities

  • Perform safety and quality checks, including verifying exam orders.
  • Complete CT examinations following established exam protocols-established by CT Radiologist.
  • Enter examinations correctly, ensuring accurate and informative documentation and appropriate charges are entered.
  • Electronically send and store images and data appropriately in PACS.
  • Follow departmental procedures for maintaining records and logs to monitor quality and safety in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Perform equipment cleaning and maintain a safe work environment presenting the best possible impression of facilities and fostering our culture of safety.
  • Address supply and equipment issues to ensure optimum operations, equipment quality and long-term equipment maintenance and life.
  • Transport and provide ambulatory assistance to patients as necessary.
  • Inform patients and family members throughout the patients' experience.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team utilizing established handoff procedures. Give and accept respectful feedback to enhance teamwork and the clinical training experience.
  • Minimize preventable harm events and consistently execute the infection control protocols. Incorporate the Culture of Safety tools in daily practice, adhering to quality and safety guidelines and communicating near-miss or potential risks.
