About The Position

Anglophone East is currently recruiting for Casual School Bus Drivers. Previous school bus driving experience is not necessary. This is a responsible position in the operation of a heavy motor vehicle to safely transport students to and from schools and activities. The position includes: the safe, efficient operation of a school bus; some knowledge of the mechanical operation of a bus and the responsibility for maintaining a mechanically sound vehicle. The names of successful applicants (once trained) will be placed on a replacement driver list and may be called to work on an as-required basis. School bus drivers typically work a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the afternoon. Drivers do not work on weekends, statutory holidays, during summer break, Christmas break, March break, and snow days. However, extra hours may be available if desired (school field trips, After-school events, weekend sport tournaments, etc.).

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Driver's license with a clear driving record
• Good medical record with no heart conditions
• Strong orientation towards safety
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Class 2BE Driver's License
• Clean criminal check
• Vulnerable sector check
• Drivers abstract
• Vision test
• Written test
• Road test

Nice To Haves

• Previous school bus driving experience is not necessary.
• Potential to park bus at your home, or a nearby depot.
• French not required

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from schools and activities.
