The new Workplace Operations team works closely with academic and professional colleagues to ensure the University meets its operational and compliance obligations for casual academic staff. The team drives continuous improvement, embeds consistent best‑practice processes and frameworks, and oversees operational compliance across all faculties and business areas—ensuring cohesive, rigorous standards and accurate, timely pay outcomes in line with University policies, enterprise agreements and legislative requirements. The Casual Academics’ Administration Officer (CAAO) plays a key role in delivering high‑quality operational support that ensures casual academic staff are allocated work correctly, paid accurately, and that all associated processes meet audit and compliance standards. Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll manage work allocations, timesheet reconciliations, enquiries and discrepancy case investigations, while providing clear, practical guidance on the compliance controls framework and processes. A strong analytical mindset is essential, as you will routinely interpret data, identify anomalies, assess risks and contribute insights that strengthen operational compliance and controls framework efficacy. This role suits an organised, detail‑focused administrator who enjoys problem solving, managing deadlines and contributing to a strong operational culture in a fast‑paced higher‑education environment.
