About The Position
Weld operator to weld repair aerospace magnesium parts and aluminum sand castings. Actual welding time will encompass approximately 20 – 30 hours per week. This job also requires the prepping of parts to be welded, welding and various other duties within Chicago Magnesium.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read and understand all procedures required to perform assigned tasks
- Good communication skills
- Completion of Welding coursework/certification
Nice To Haves
- 2 - 3 years of previous TIG Welding experience
Responsibilities
- Review & inspect all material being used, building self-inspection into everything you make/process
- Complete, date and sign-off on all routing information; apply weld stamp where applicable; input required production Data/reporting
- May machine and prepare castings for weld plugs & plug castings
- Machine excess stock from castings with milling machine
- Wear proper safety equipment; keep work area clean and safe at all times.
- Accurate scanning in and out on jobs and the proper reporting of processed quantities
- Report any problems or discrepancies to immediate management
