About The Position

A Casting Laborer is responsible for assisting in the production process of aluminum castings, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the foundry environment.

Requirements

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee must infrequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup and operation of molds for aluminum casting.
  • Pour molten aluminum into molds and ensure proper flow and cooling.
  • Inspect aluminum castings for defects and assist with quality control processes.
  • Handle and transport materials such as metal ingots, sand, and other foundry supplies.
  • Clean and maintain casting equipment, molds and work areas.
  • Monitor the temperature and condition of molten metal to ensure quality standards.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear required protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Assist with the unloading and storage of castings once they have cooled.
  • Perform other general labor tasks as directed by Manager or supervisor.
