About The Position

This role involves performing a variety of helper's duties to assist in the set-up, adjustment, and operation of all casting lines. The position requires attention to detail in performing checks, recording data, and operating computer systems as needed. The individual will also be responsible for identifying and reporting unusual conditions or defective materials, assisting with equipment maintenance and cleaning, and rotating between duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of helper's duties as directed, to assist in set-up, adjustment, and operation of all casting lines.
• Attend take-up end of machine. Stack materials and apply proper identification. Move material as necessary.
• Perform standardized weight and thickness checks on starts and during operation. Chart all checks on control charts.
• Make required calculations; record results, and report to operator. Operate computer as needed.
• Detect unusual conditions, defective material, or operating difficulties and report to operator or supervisor.
• Assist in maintaining/cleaning equipment and work areas.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Rotate between duties as required.
