About The Position

The Casting Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor leads and develops a team to ensure high-quality, efficient casting designs and manufacturing processes. The role works with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and applies knowledge of casting alloys and processes, including gravity, low-pressure, and high-pressure die casting. Knowledge of core-making processes and materials is also useful. The supervisor drives the New Model Launch of Complex Casting process to help cross-functional teams develop and implement manufacturing-feasible casting designs and processes for new Powertrain programs. The role supports casting prototype development and delivery, supplier and plant engineering, quality improvement, material and process evaluation, and employee development. Supervisory work includes setting objectives and goals, development discussions, and performance reviews. The position is based from Dearborn, with domestic and international travel that may range from 25% to 60% when required. Higher travel needs may involve supporting launch teams onsite at plants or suppliers for approximately three months to one and a half years. When supporting out-of-state locations, employees may travel home every other weekend. Ford describes the role as onsite. Visa sponsorship is not available; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
