About The Position

Assists the Orthopedic Physicians in the examination, treatment, and follow-up care of patients with orthopedic conditions. This role involves preparing patients for orthopedic procedures, applying and removing casts, splints, and braces, and assisting physicians with fracture and dislocation reductions. The technician will also manage inventory of orthopedic supplies, maintain equipment cleanliness and sterilization, and ensure accurate patient record-keeping.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with the assistance of another person (s) and/or equipment.
• Local travel to offsite locations

Nice To Haves

• Certification from a Medical Assisting Program, Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), or equivalent, preferred.
• One year previous healthcare experience, preferred.
• Experience as Orthopedic Cast Tech, Suture Tech, or EMT, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for orthopedic procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort during the procedure.
• Applies and removes casts, splints, and braces as directed by the physician.
• Assists physicians in the reduction of fractures and dislocations.
• Orders and maintains inventory of orthopedic supplies and equipment.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment and instruments to ensure patient safety.
• Maintains accurate patient records and ensures that they are up-to-date.
