About The Position

Assists the Orthopedic Physicians in the examination, treatment, and follow-up care of patients with orthopedic conditions. The role involves preparing patients for orthopedic procedures, applying and removing casts, splints, and braces, and assisting physicians in the reduction of fractures and dislocations. The technician will also be responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory of orthopedic supplies and equipment, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Certification from a Medical Assisting Program, Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), or equivalent, preferred.
• One year previous healthcare experience, preferred.
• Experience as Orthopedic Cast Tech, Suture Tech, or EMT, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for orthopedic procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort during the procedure.
• Applies and removes casts, splints, and braces as directed by the physician.
• Assists physicians in the reduction of fractures and dislocations.
• Orders and maintains inventory of orthopedic supplies and equipment.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment and instruments to ensure patient safety.
• Maintains accurate patient records and ensures that they are up-to-date.
