About The Position

The Casting Advancement and Specialization Track Engineering Development Program is an eighteen month hands-on program that builds a strong foundation in investment casting while applying engineering skills to real business and manufacturing challenges. CAST Engineers gain exposure to different business units and specialized engineering disciplines while completing business-driven projects designed to build technical depth, practical manufacturing knowledge, and increasing independence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, metallurgical, chemical, industrial, manufacturing, materials, or a related engineering field strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles through academic projects, internships, co-ops, research, or other relevant experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of engineering principles and their application to manufacturing or technical problem solving.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and develop practical solutions to technical and operational problems.
  • Ability to learn new processes, technologies, and engineering disciplines and apply that knowledge in different rotational assignments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly to varied audiences.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple assignments, priorities, and project deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, quality, and other business functions.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and initiative in learning unfamiliar processes and solving problems.
  • Must be a U.S. Person.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Applies engineering principles to assigned business and manufacturing projects that support process improvement, product performance, quality, tooling, design, metrology, business development, and related technical priorities.
  • Collects and analyzes technical and operational data, evaluates problems and root causes, develops potential solutions, and supports implementation of improvements using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Completes assigned rotations and project work across business units and specialized engineering areas, including process, product, metrology, quality, business development, tooling, and design, to build broad technical knowledge and develop deeper expertise over the course of the program.
  • Supports efforts to improve manufacturing processes, process control, quality, efficiency, reliability, and overall operational performance through engineering analysis and project work.
  • Documents project scope, analysis, findings, recommendations, and results, and communicates technical information effectively to engineering, operations, program leaders, and other stakeholders.
