About The Position

The Cassette Repair Technician is responsible for maintaining the condition of cassettes throughout the factory, performing repairs, and ensuring quality standards are met. This role involves auditing cassette conditions, updating databases, performing various repair tasks including welding and component replacement, and managing work orders. The technician will also contribute to improving efficiency and interpreting technical documents to maintain production equipment.

Requirements

  • Good communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent visual skills for accessing functionality of equipment
  • Above basic mathematical skills and reasoning ability
  • Knowledge of OSHA Requirements to include Electrical Safety, Machine Guarding, confined space and Lockout/Tagout Procedures
  • Basic working knowledge of computer software and MS office
  • Experience with operating fork lift
  • Ability to operate with speed and accuracy
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings
  • Demonstrates team spirit, shows flexibility and positive attitude as an active team contributor
  • Demonstrates the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills, is able to recognize and appropriately escalate issues when situations arise
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-hire basic skills tests and assessments
  • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment background check, physical exam and drug screening
  • Ability to weld, TIG, MIG at a minimum
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift
  • Ability to frequently move throughout production areas, including ascending and descending stairs, ladders, and work platforms
  • Ability to occasionally kneel, crouch, bend, stoop, reach overhead, and work in confined or awkward positions
  • Ability to frequently use both dominant and non-dominant hands for operating tools, handling materials, manipulating machine controls, and performing technical tasks
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move materials and equipment up to 35 pounds and, less frequently, up to 65 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to occasionally push or pull wheeled carts, equipment, or components requiring moderate force
  • Ability to visually inspect equipment, materials, gauges, and finished products to identify defects, malfunctions, hazards, or deviations, and to recognize safety signals, alarms, and changing conditions in the work environment, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to effectively receive, understand, and communicate technical instructions, safety information, and operational updates through appropriate means, with or without reasonable accommodation

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree from an accredited community, technical or vocational college
  • Ability to sew preferred
  • Lean / process improvement tools experience and/or interest in advancing knowledge in this area

Responsibilities

  • Auditing of cassette condition throughout factory on a regular basis
  • Updating condition of cassettes in designated database
  • Fixing cassettes including welding; wheel/bearing repair; RFID installation; re-shaping cassette guards; repainting of cassettes
  • Fixing liners and installing correctly
  • Writing up work orders in Maximo and closing out work on cassettes
  • Discovering methods of improving efficiency and ensure quality standards, as an individual and part of a team
  • Interpreting blueprints and schematics, implement methods, practices, and techniques of maintaining production facilities, systems and equipment
  • Performs Preventive, Predictive, Project and Reactive maintenance as required
  • Rebuilds, repairs and reassemble machines and equipment
  • Orders spare parts needed
  • Communicates required supply of essential spare parts
  • Engages personal performance to achieve and retain high-performance standards
  • Other duties as assigned
