About The Position

The Casino Security Officer provides security services for casino operations and helps ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and facilities. The officer controls access, escorts money, chips, drop boxes, and drop teams, responds to security calls and emergencies, provides first aid, monitors CCTV and fire alarm notifications, and enforces company policies and procedures. The role also involves guest and employee interaction, incident investigation and reporting, access-control operations, and inspections of fire extinguishers and other safety equipment. Secondary duties may include foot and vehicle fire-watch patrols, driving a department patrol vehicle on varied public and private roads and terrain, and assisting with hotel security when directed. The officer is expected to remain professional and composed in stressful situations, work independently with minimal supervision, maintain a neat appearance, and demonstrate the Ten Essential Attributes, Greenbrier Service Standards, Code of Ethics, and Core Values. Working safely is a condition of employment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in person, and by telephone or radio.
Report-writing skills.
Current certification in a recognized basic first aid program or higher, such as EMT, from an organization such as the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or WV RESA.
Current certification in a recognized CPR program from an organization such as the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or WV RESA.
Valid driver's license.
Must attain American Hotel and Lodging Association Certified Lodging Security Officer certification within 18 months of hiring, or an equivalent certification specified by the Director of Security.
Must successfully attain a valid WV Lottery Commission gaming license to work in the casino.
Must achieve and maintain all training and technical requirements listed in the EJF.
Consistent demonstration of the Ten Essential Attributes, Greenbrier Service Standards, Code of Ethics, and Core Values.
Must work safely as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

Casino security service experience is preferred.
Preference may be given to current WV Lottery Commission Occupational License holders.
Demonstrated hospitality or related experience.
Law enforcement, military, firefighter, or emergency medical service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide security services for the casino.
Conduct escorts for money, chips, drop boxes, and drop teams.
Issue temporary licenses, access cards, and vendor identification cards as needed.
Respond to emergencies, security calls, incidents, and events.
Coordinate with the Casino Manager on duty regarding unruly, disruptive, or suspicious guests.
Provide first aid response.
Staff casino or other access points, determine access, provide resort and casino information, and direct traffic.
Communicate clearly by two-way radio, telephone, computer, and written reports or information.
Record and disseminate appropriate access information.
Observe CCTV displays and act on appropriate security issues.
Review and process entering and exiting personnel for rule compliance.
Review, process, and activate access controls involving locks, man-traps, and automated gates.
Monitor and respond to electronic fire alarm notifications in a timely manner.
Ensure guest and employee safety and security and maintain facility security.
Conduct investigations when directed and write clear, concise reports.
Enforce company policies and procedures.
Provide positive guest and employee interactions and demonstrate customer service and hospitality consistent with the Greenbrier Service Standards.
Maintain a professional, calm demeanor during stressful encounters and maintain a clean, neat appearance.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Conduct periodic inspections of fire extinguishers and other safety equipment.
Conduct foot and vehicle formal fire-watch patrols using electronic recording devices.
Drive a department patrol vehicle on public and private, improved and unimproved roads, trails, paths, and mountainous terrain.
Assist in hotel security operations when directed.
