About The Position

SA Recycling is seeking a Cashier to join their team. This role involves managing financial transactions, customer service, and administrative tasks related to scrap metal purchasing. The Cashier will be responsible for accurate record-keeping, balancing the cash drawer, generating invoices, and assisting customers with inquiries. The position also requires providing support to other office staff and assisting with monthly closing and inventory tasks. The work environment is fast-paced and can involve both office and outdoor settings.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent customer service and the ability to handle multiple projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Mathematical and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn industry specific software.
• All US applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete all required records and documentation for payment of purchased scrap metal into the proper systems.
• Calculate daily transactions using computerized programs and balance cash drawer at the end of the day.
• Generate invoices, itemize lists and tickets noting materials and amounts due, verify weights, prices, and extensions.
• Assist current and potential customers with questions regarding the pricing of materials, the types of materials accepted, and maintenance of customer accounts.
• Provide relief and/or backup duties for the Office Assistant and Weighmaster.
• Assists with monthly closing reporting, and with inventory reconciliation as needed.
