About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Tenneva is a mission-driven social enterprise dedicated to changing lives through the power of work. We're looking for a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier to join our Retail team. If you enjoy helping people, working in a fast-paced environment, and creating a positive shopping experience, we'd love to hear from you! The Cashier provides excellent customer service while accurately and efficiently processing customer purchases. This role also helps maintain an organized, customer-ready sales floor and supports merchandise flow throughout the store. Every positive customer interaction and purchase helps generate revenue that supports Goodwill's mission and programs in our communities.

Requirements

• Friendly and professional customer service skills.
• Ability to accurately handle cash, make change, and operate or learn a POS system.
• Dependability and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible availability, including the ability to work a varied schedule Sunday through Saturday.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, and move merchandise.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Accurately operate the cash register and POS system, process payments, make change, and bag merchandise.
• Answer customer questions and assist with shopping needs.
• Help move clothing to the sales floor and place merchandise in the appropriate areas.
• Assist with merchandise rotation and keep racks organized and customer-ready.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized checkout, dressing room, and sales-floor areas.
• Work as part of the Retail team to support daily store operations.
• Follow Goodwill's safety, security, and cash-handling procedures.
