About The Position

The Cashier provides excellent customer service while accurately and efficiently processing customer purchases. This role also helps maintain an organized, customer-ready sales floor and supports merchandise flow throughout the store. Every positive customer interaction and purchase helps generate revenue that supports Goodwill's mission and programs in our communities.

Requirements

Friendly and professional customer service skills.
Ability to accurately handle cash, make change, and operate or learn a POS system.
Dependability and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible availability, including the ability to work a varied schedule Sunday through Saturday.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, and move merchandise.
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Accurately operate the cash register and POS system, process payments, make change, and bag merchandise.
Answer customer questions and assist with shopping needs.
Help move clothing to the sales floor and place merchandise in the appropriate areas.
Assist with merchandise rotation and keep racks organized and customer-ready.
Maintain clean, safe, and organized checkout, dressing room, and sales-floor areas.
Work as part of the Retail team to support daily store operations.
Follow Goodwill's safety, security, and cash-handling procedures.
