About The Position

The Cashier works as a member of the store team to deliver an excellent customer and brand experience and promote sales for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. The role is responsible for operating registers and maintaining sales floor standards. The position includes processing payments, asking customers for cash donations, identifying merchandise prices, completing closing procedures as needed, greeting customers, stocking merchandise, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The cashier also follows floorwork and picture process map standards, uses phones and paging systems for scheduled announcements, models Goodwill's core values, and performs other assigned duties. The role requires regular, consistent in-person attendance. Requirements

High school education or equivalent experience.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to communicate and understand instructions in English, both verbally and in writing.
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for the position.
Ability to speak and read English proficiently.

Nice To Haves

Excellent math skills preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform Point of Sale (POS) responsibilities and process all forms of payment.
Ask each customer for cash donations at the point of sale.
Establish or identify prices of goods based on merchandise type or markings, or by asking an on-site leader for help.
Complete closing procedures as necessary.
Maintain regular and consistent in-person attendance.
Greet customers entering the store and thank customers leaving the establishment.
Maintain the sales floor by following floorwork and PPM (picture process map) standards.
Stock merchandise in the appropriate area as assigned.
Use systems, including phones and paging systems, to make regularly scheduled announcements.
Maintain a clean and safe environment.
