About The Position

The Cashier provides customer service to the public in a retail sales outlet, stocks product, and operates a cash register. The position is hourly and requires interaction with the work group and other departments at the primary work location. Employees must demonstrate competency in activities that may affect product safety, legality, or quality. The role is part-time, scheduled for 20 hours per week.

Requirements

• Ability to read, comprehend, and write; perform basic math; and record information applicable to the job.
• No educational prerequisite.

Nice To Haves

• Six or more months of retail and/or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Inventory incoming product.
• Stock shelves according to set standards.
• Maintain proper product rotation and freshness.
• Maintain positive relationships with retail customers and use suggestive selling.
• Operate a cash register and accurately record sales receipts.
• Check in stale products from routes to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
• Follow Company policies and procedures, including those concerning equal employment opportunity, harassment, safety, and Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Fulfill work schedules, follow attendance policies, and comply with other applicable operating rules, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties deemed by management to be an integral part of the job.
