About The Position
The Cashier provides customer service to the public in a retail sales outlet, stocks shelves with product, and operates a cash register. This is an hourly position requiring competency in on-the-job activities that may affect product safety, legality, or quality. The role involves constant interaction with the work group and other departments at the primary work location.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend, and write.
- Ability to perform basic math skills and record job-related information.
Nice To Haves
- Six or more months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Responsibilities
- Inventory incoming product.
- Stock shelves according to set standards.
- Maintain proper product rotation and freshness.
- Maintain positive relationships with retail customers and use suggestive selling.
- Operate the cash register and accurately record sales receipts.
- Check in stale products from routes to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including those concerning equal employment opportunity, harassment, safety, and Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Perform other duties assigned by management, including following work schedules, attendance policies, and applicable operating rules and procedures.
