About The Position

CC Holdings is hiring full-time and part-time cashiers for its café at the IU School of Medicine. Cashiers provide customer service, process purchases, handle cash, and support café operations. The role also includes preparing and restocking food, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, and helping deliver a welcoming experience in a fast-paced environment. Schedules vary within the 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM shift window, and candidates must have flexible availability. The starting rate is $13 per hour and up, depending on experience. Candidates must be fully vaccinated and provide documentation, or have a medical or religious exemption.

Requirements

Must be fully vaccinated with documentation or have a medical or religious exemption.
Arrive in proper uniform and adhere to grooming standards.
Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, sanitation principles, and safe food handling.
Effective communication and listening skills.
Flexibility and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse environment.

Strong time-management and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
Ability to deal with changes and willingness to assist with other tasks.
Prior cash-handling experience is preferred but not required.
Ability to perform the essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation; these may include extended standing and walking, moving around work areas, handling food, operating restaurant equipment, interacting with customers and team members, maintaining cleanliness, and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items.

Responsibilities

Balance the cash drawer, make change, enter purchases, and follow cash-handling procedures.
Record orders accurately, receive and give change, and count the drawer to support financial accountability.
Set up the station according to café guidelines and prepare food items as directed, following sanitation, portion-control, and presentation standards.
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
Restock items as needed and maintain the station through cleaning and organization.
Follow food-safety and sanitation procedures, including sweeping floors, cleaning surfaces, and properly covering and storing food.
Use and maintain station equipment properly.
Serve customers, thank them, invite them to return, and inform them about products, promotions, and services through suggestive selling.
Work efficiently and consistently while supporting café operations, standards, and concept.
Act as a role model for customers and staff and help provide on-the-job training for new baristas or cashiers.
Assist with other tasks when asked.
