About The Position

The Cashier provides friendly, efficient, and accurate service to customers while processing transactions, maintaining the checkout area, and supporting overall store operations. The role is entry-level, works under close supervision, and focuses on learning point-of-sale systems, basic procedures, and customer service. Cash handling experience is preferred but not required. The position is part-time on the PM shift at Juniors #6 in Edinburg, Texas.

Requirements

Basic math skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to operate a cash register and other point-of-sale equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately.
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Texas Alcohol Food Beverage Commission (TABC) certification is required.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Cash handling experience preferred but not required.
Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service.
Scan and process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
Handle cash, credit/debit card, and other forms of payment.
Issue receipts and maintain accurate records.
Bag or package purchases as needed.
Answer customer inquiries and assist with product selection.
Keep the checkout area clean and organized.
Stock and replenish supplies at the checkout counter.
Follow company policies and procedures for cash handling and security.
Assist with other store tasks as assigned, such as stocking shelves or cleaning.
Resolve customer complaints and escalate issues to management when necessary.
Promote store promotions and loyalty programs.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
Perform additional tasks assigned to support store operations.
